Download the pre-alpha 64-bit Firefox ( Minefield ) now and get ready for crashes
Mozilla has just released the pre-release version of their 64-bit Firefox for Windows only. The 64-bit Firefox is actually called Mozilla Minefield and it seems to be really unstable. Unfortunately it doesn’t come with an automated installed, so you will need to download Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package to be able to install the 64-bit Firefox ( Minefield ). Also no plugin works on it, so forget about all the fancy extensions that made your life easier. And by none I mean not even Flash works so you’ll know what all iPad users feel like.
The 64-bit Firefox ( Minefield ) is definitely not a browser you should use for your daily work, because it’s in an early pre-alpha stage and stability is not one of its main points. Though if you want to give it a try, you can download it here and make sure to report the bugs to Mozilla so they will be able to release a more stable version soon.
