Blizzard To Release More Details About Diablo III And Starcraft II: Heart Of The Swarm At Gamescom 2011
Gamescom is one of the biggest gaming-related events in the world and this year it will take place in Germany between August 18th and 21st. Blizzard has officially confirmed that it will be present at the games event and that the published will come loaded with news about its products including Diablo, Starcraft, and World of Warcraft.
Blizzard added that consumers and gaming passionate folks will be able to experience games like Diablo III, Starcraft II Heart of the Swarm, and WoW Cataclysm during the event. Gamescom will also give Blizzard fans the possibility to win lots of prizes and to play against the best WoW, Diablo, and Starcraft 2 gamers (probably against some of the company’s testers).
The publisher has announced that there will be a special WoW competition where gamers will compete against each other in the World of Warcraft arena. According to Blizzard, the fans can join them and the press events in the Gamescom hall 6.1 starting August 18th.
Starcraft II: Heart of the Swarm is an expansion pack for the popular game which will be released in early 2012. The expansion pack was announced right after the release of the Wings of Liberty game last year. Although it will feature a lot of content including 20 missions, the second game in the SC2 series will have the same price as a regular DLC so your pockets won’t get hurt.
Starcraft II: Heart of the Swarm will continue the Zerg campaign and it will be a direct sequel to Wings of Liberty. The protagonist of the game will be Sarah Kerrigan, and at first it will be unclear if the Zerg is the antagonist or a positive character, but everything will become clear after several missions.
The other major announcement that will be made at Gamescom 2011 in Cologne, Deutschland, is the Diablo III release date. Blizzard is expected to announce when the direct sequel to Diablo II will begin shipping, and many fans hope that it will become available by the end of the year.
Anyway it’s very unlikely that Diablo 3 gets released in time for Christmas as the game will only enter the public beta stage sometime in September, after Gamescom 2011.
