How To Sign Out Of Facebook Chat And Disable / Block Facebook IM
Facebook is used more and more and soon ‘spending online time with my Facebook friends’ won’t seem such a bad thing to say, when explaining to your parents why you’re spending so much time in your room. Everyone knows what Facebook is, and recently lots of users decided that the Facebook chat is a better way to talk to your friends than other conventional instant messaging application, such as Yahoo Messenger, MSN and other such as these.
Recently, Facebook allows its users to connect to its Chat Service with the Windows Live Messenger 2010 application. This means that from now on you won’t need to use Facebook’s chat anymore, but every time you log into your Facebook account you will be automatically logged into the Facebook Chat, but you shouldn’t worry as there is a way to sign out of the Facebook Chat and disable the Facebook IM permanently. See below the steps that you need to take in order to successfully sign out of Facebook Chat and disable the Facebook instant messaging service :
First you need to lg into your Facebook account / profile.
Locate the Chat panel, which is situated at the bottom right hand corner of the webpage. Click it.
When the Chat menu is shown, you need to click the Options menu.
Now you need to simply click the ‘Go Offline’ link and you will be signed out of the Facebook chat.
It is easy, right? Now you’re browsing Facebook without appearing online to your friends and by doing this you are sure that no one will bother you anymore, when surfing through your friends’ Facebook profiles. Also, please note that if you wish to enable the Facebook Chat, you simply need to go to the Chat Options menu and turn the Facebook Chat ON. This is all you need to do in order to disable / enable the Facebook Chat.
