  4. Press Enter after you insert that command line, and it will start the uninstall process of Internet Explorer 8.

  5. After Internet Explorer is completely removed, you need to restart your computer and reinstall a fresh copy of Internet Explorer 8.

How To Completely Uninstall / Remove Internet Explorer in Windows 7 and Vista

Before you start reinstalling the Internet Explorer in your Windows Vista or Windows 7, you need to clean up the registry keys, as there might be some left overs that the IE8 uninstaller couldn’t remove.

Open the Registry Editor to be able of removing the registry keys completely. Find the key below :

  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\GPExtensions

After you located the key, delete this two lines :

  • {7B849a69-220F-451E-B3FE-2CB811AF94AE}

  • {CF7639F3-ABA2-41DB-97F2-81E2C5DBFC5D}

If you can’t find that key, it means that the uninstaller managed to delete it and now you can reinstall the Internet Explorer 8 on your computer.

If you want to reinstall the IE8 in Vista, you can do it with an installation package or you can use the Windows Update.
