Official: Nokia N9 16GB / 64GB Price Is $660 / $749

A few days ago, at a Nokia congress in Shanghai, the Finnish manufacturer presented a smartphone, running on MeeGo.
On June 21, we presented you the first official specs and images of Nokia N9, and as you probably know, Nokia N9 comes with 1GHz single-core CPU and 1GB of RAM. It also features a magnificent 3.9-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen, protected by a Gorilla Glass display. As about the storage space of Nokia N9, learn that the device comes with 16 or 64GB of internal memory.
Even though MeeGo is not the fastest OS currently on the market, it looks pretty nice (even though it was “inspired” from all other OSs currently available) and we all hope that Nokia will further improve the performance of their operating system.
But today we will talk about the price of the freshly announced Nokia N9. It seems that the first MeeGo smartphone will hit the market in the 16GB version with a price tag of $660.
Of course, you will also be able to buy the 64GB version of Nokia N9, but, just as you expected, is more expensive, coming at a price of $749. The informations come from Colin Giles, the Executive Vice-president of Nokia Sales department. The prices are applied for the network unlocked devices, so we reasonable prices for the 3.9-inch display MeeGo smartphone with contract.
No one knows yet, when Nokia N9 will hit North America, or whether Nokia intends to sell it there (as it would be fool if they don’t). Anyway, the MeeGo smartphone will first arrive in European countries, like Holland, Germany and UK, then in the rest of Europe. An important thing to mention is that Nokia N9 is the first device on the market with 64GB of internal storage space, but it seems no one noticed this…
Please feel free to tell us how you feel about Nokia N9 and the price that was set for the 3.9-inch Super AMOLED device. The comments section below is all yours…

Well, guess what. Nokia is a bigger fool than anyone intially thought!!!
Yeah, it’s time to wake up and smell the coffee, Nokia! Isn’t it obvious by now that there are scores of people like me clamoring for wider availability of the N9? And, frankly, who knows how many thousands of potential buyers each vocal enthusiast represents? Please do yourself a favor and release this superb smartphone in major markets like the US and UK. As has already been said, it would be foolish not to. Sure, go ahead and sell your Winphones to those that are interested, but why not give the rest of us a Meego based open source alternative, particularly when the OS and its first commercially available phone (the N9) have received nearly universal critical acclaim? While you’re at it, do yourself another favor by polishing up and marketing the N950, the Meego based qwerty with a 12mp camera you’ve been keeping from us. I bet all of the developers you’ve given them to would be in favor of this move. But for now, at the very least, give everyone access to a phone that practically sells itself, the Nokia N9!
