Each and every Android enthusiast is eager see the technical specifications of the Samsung Galaxy S III, a handset that is build to compete against the world’s high-end smartphones and make the world forget about iPhone 5.
Even though early rumors suggested that Samsung will introduce the Galaxy S III at Mobile World Congress event, the South Korea-based company decided that what’s best for their fans and their new product is a separate event. Now that the Samsung Galaxy S III launching event is getting closer new speculations about the Samsung’s new flagship have hit the web.
Invoking the “inside source,” the guys at BGR claim that they have got their hands on the Samsung Galaxy S III full specifications sheet.
But before talking about the Galaxy S III specs coming from BGR let’s remember about some rumors that hit the web about a week ago. At that time Geek.com reported that the South Korea-based company is developing an edge-to-edge display for a smartphone that will be launched in late June or early July.
The sources quoted by Geek.com don’t reveal too many details about the product, but rumor has it that the new edge-to-edge display has 5 inches, it will cover the entire front of the device and it’s designed for the new Samsung Galaxy S III.
Geek.com reported that the smartphone will be 9mm thick, that it will be powered by a quad-core 1.5GHz Samsung Exynos 4412 CPU and that it will come with a Super AMOLED HD display (1280 x 720 pixels) and 2GB of RAM. Thanks to the curved design, it will be easier get the device in and out of your pocked. They said that Samsung Galaxy S III will have 32GB or 64GB of internal memory, a micro SDXC slot and LTE support.
Now let’s see what BGR has to say about Samsung’s next flagship. They say that the Galaxy S3 will use the company’s proprietary CPU, a powerful quad-core Samsung Exynos clocked at 1.5GHz. They add up and say that SGS3 will feature a 4.8-inch full HD (1080p!) display with 16:9 aspect ratio. If this rumor is true than just imagine a smartphone’s display capable of offering Blue-ray quality.
The other Samsung Galaxy S III specs include an 8MP camera on the back (of course with full HD 1080p video recording support) and a secondary, user-facing one with a 2MP sensor. What surprised me was the inclusion of a ceramic case for the new Galaxy flagship. The list continues with 4G LTE capabilities and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich treatment.
The last piece of information coming from BGR says that Samsung Galaxy S III might be introduced this summer (June or July 2012).
Anyway, comparing the two sources it’s easy to see some information that matches: the quad-core Exynos chipset, the 4G LTE support and the early summer release date. Is any of these rumors true? The comments section below is yours.
