U-Boat Worx Opens Mini-Submersibles Charter Program For The Worldwide Public

The Dutch company, U-Boat Worx, have started an international private charter program for their mini-submersible line-up. The deep-diving submersible can be rented by anyone, of course if they have the right amount of money.

The company will consult their customers’ opinion in order to decide which of their mini-submersibles is more suited for their needs. The U-Boat Worx’ watercraft can be transported to a destination at customer’s choice, and the Dutch company will supply the crew, the technical equipment and transportation to / from the launching point.

For those who want to admire the underwater sights, U-Boat Worx can make recommendations for cruises and itineraries.

I remember that at one of my first writing jobs I covered a news about a company that had a project regarding mini-submersible that was meant for public’s interests. Back then I thought this would take more than a decade to happen, but here we are, less than five years after, and U-Boat Worx provides charter services for their clients.

At the end of 2012, C-Explorer 5 will join the current line-up of the Dutch company, formed of C-Explorer 2 and C-Quester 3 mini-submersibles. Unlike C-Quester 3 (which can dive 328 feet deep), C-Explorer 5 is a mini-submersible capable of hosting up to 5 passengers and dive at 900+ feet deep. The company announced that all their watercraft have an autonomy of up to 8 hours.

Thus, if you are thinking to rent the C-Quester 3, the charter price is of $75,000, crew, insurance, equipment, parts, etc. included.

The price tag of the U-Boat Worx chart can mean only one thing: that their services are not addressed to the masses, but more for the wealthy individuals of the plant and especially for the research companies and institutes.
